Latvia has completed the delivery of 42 Patria 6×6 armored vehicles to Ukraine, fulfilling the agreement between the two countries.

The final batch, consisting of 21 units, was allocated to Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, which operate on the most intense front-line combat zones. Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal thanked the Latvian government and people for their continued support and highlighted that all promised vehicles were delivered still in 2025.

The first armored vehicles sent are already in use by Ukraine’s 3rd Separate Assault Brigade in mobility and assault missions. In addition to the Patria 6×6, Latvia supplied 12 CVR(T) reconnaissance vehicles, contributed €2.2 million to the PURL initiative, and funded fortification projects through the Shelter Coalition. The country is also taking part in NATO’s “Renovator” program, focused on rebuilding military rehabilitation centers in Ukraine.

Developed by the Finnish company Patria, the 6×6 model is designed for troop transport and direct combat support, with protection against small-arms fire, mines, and shrapnel. Equipped with a powerful engine and independent suspension, it can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h and cover long distances without refueling.

Ukraine hopes that field experience with the vehicle will help improve its use by European forces and strengthen the mobility of its units in high-risk areas.
